Managing caregiver stress

Marian had a long history of chronic stress. She works as a nurses’ aide in a busy hospital and cares for her aging mom at home. Although she loves her job and caring for her mom, the amount of stress she experienced felt unmanageable.

Marian recognized it was she who needed help and she called Health Advocate. Marian believes her Counselor’s support made the difference. With her Counselor’s help, Marian has identified action steps she could take toward stress relief, such as taking time for activities she enjoyed. She has committed to do one activity per day and has stayed accountable to her goals. As a result, she feels less stressed and more relaxed.
