Dan Messina, a widely respected senior executive, joined Health Advocate in 2006 with more than 25 years of financial and business experience. He has served with distinction in a number of important corporate positions at major national companies demonstrating keen business acumen and leadership skills.
Prior to joining Health Advocate, Messina was the President and Chief Operating Officer of the Rendina Companies, a real estate development company headquartered in Florida. Other notable positions include President and CEO of Magellan Health, the nation's largest managed mental health company serving 70 million Americans, and Chief Financial Officer and head of Business Strategy for Aetna U.S. Healthcare. Earlier in his career, Messina worked at Cigna as Vice President for Financial Reporting and held finance positions at Springborn Group, Inc. and Deloitte & Touche.
Since the founding of Health Advocate, Messina has been an early and constant supporter and until joining us full-time he served as a valued member of our Board of Advisors. He is well known throughout the country by other senior executives at major corporations and organizations as well as on Wall Street. Messina has demonstrated and proven abilities navigating complex customers, products and local environments, while providing innovative and creative business solutions.
Messina received his B.B.S. in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame. He is a member of the University's Arts and Letters Advisory Council and is also active in a range of other community activities. |
